What's the process for renting a stay?

Once you decide to rent, email us and we'll send you a rental agreement to sign and email back with payment. We take personal US checks or Paypal. Because there are sometimes multiple inquiries for the same week at the same time, the week you are interested in is not guaranteed until payment and agreement is received. We will hold a week for 24 hours to give you time to get the agreement signed with payment.

How do we know you're legit?

Happy to send you copies of our annual Christmas Mountain maintenance fees, work email & phone numbers, or a 1,000 pictures of us in the Dells. We are also AirBnB, TripAdvisor and Paypal verified. You also can stop by if you are in the Chicago-land area.

Why do you rent?

My kids are grown now, so we have more weeks than we can use. We still go to the Dells a few times a year and trade other weeks for vacations around the US, Canada and Mexico, but still have additional weeks available. If you search around the internet, you'll find we offer a very reasonable price since we're renting at our cost.

Are the units in good shape?

All the units at Christmas Mountain Village have been recently remodeled from top to bottom. In addition, the units are thoroughly cleaned after each stay. I have a lot of recent pictures on this website.

What's the difference between a Villa, Timbers, Cottage and a Cabin? Are they all the same?

The Villas and Timbers are much larger than the Cottages and Cabins, roughly twice the size. The Villas are two stories and the Timbers is one. Both have a screened in deck with a grill which is a great asset in Spring, Summer and Fall. The Cabins and the Cottages do not have a grill and share a common one in an area down the road. The Villas and Timbers also have a washer and dryer inside the unit while the others have shared coin operated laundromat. The Villas and Timbers each have a separate swimming pool with a separate hottub open Memorial Day through Labor Day and you also have access to use the big outdoor pool and indoor pool. Cottages and Cabins do not have a dedicated pool. For these reasons, I only rent Villas and Timbers.

How many people does your place sleep?

All the two bedroom units have a maximum occupancy of 6 people and can sleep 6 people with two in each of the two bedrooms and two on the pull out couch. The one bedroom sleeps 4 with two on the pullout couch. The pullouts are best for kids, but will work for adults in a pinch.

Do you ever have last minute rentals?

I don't have a lot of weeks to rent and do have repeat renters each year. Usually the stays rent out 2-3  months in advance, but sometimes as far out as 6 months.

I don't see the exact week I need for my vacation, can you get that week if I tell you the dates?

Six months in advance, yes. Three months, maybe. One month, highly unlikely.

Can we add an extra day to the week we book?

Christmas Mountain books up 6 to 9 months in advance. We reserve these weeks early and unfortunately cannot change the reservation.

Does the resort offers tours?

Like most ownership resorts, Christmas Mountain Village does offer you a tour of the resort when you check-in with incentives. In the 15 years I've been going there, I have never gone on a tour and just say no thank you, but some people to enjoy the incentives.

Do I need to bring towels, dishes, etc.

Your bath and pool towels are supplied along with bed linens, pots & pans, dishes, laundry detergent, dish washing liquid, bath soap, shampoo, etc. The latter is not an unlimited supply, but gets most people through the week.

Can I bring my pet?

Sorry, No. Christmas Mountain has very strict rules allowing no pets in the resorts with costly penalties. There is pet boarding located 5 minutes away if you do bring your pet.

What is there to do at the Christmas Mountain Village?

In addition to the large indoor pool with a giant outdoor hottub open year around, there are other outdoor pools open in the summer, golf, tennis, volleyball, basketball, mini golf, kayaking, paddle boats, fishing, exercise room, shuffleboard, skiing (winter), and daily activities and crafts.

Where can I find a resort map?

Right here: Resort Map
